Winter storm watch issued for the Greater Lake Tahoe Area from Monday to Wednesday  as much as 12 inches of snow
"A winter storm watch was released by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 1:10 p.m. valid from Monday 5 p.m. until Wednesday Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. for the Greater Lake Tahoe Area. Heavy snow above 7000 feet. Snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches with up to 2 feet along the Sierra crest. 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation at lake level. Ridge winds gusting up to 80 mph, can be expected according to the NWS Reno NV."
"Light snow showers may create minor travel impacts early Monday afternoon before heavier snow arrives Monday evening into Tuesday morning. Travel could be very difficult, especially through mountain passes such as Donner Pass, Carson Pass, and Ebbetts Pass. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches, the NWS said. Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation."
