Four main humanitarian aid sites in Gaza, operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, have replaced previous distribution systems. Opened two months ago, these sites have seen more than 750 fatalities, mostly caused by Israeli soldiers. Despite the G.H.F.'s claim of distributing over eighty-five million meals, malnutrition-related deaths continue to occur, highlighting the ineffectiveness of the aid efforts. Warnings from the UN and various NGOs prior to the opening of these sites regarding their potential dangers have gone unheeded by Israeli officials and the G.H.F., which shows no signs of changing their approach.
The G.H.F. claims that it has distributed more than eighty-five million meals, and some non-G.H.F. aid trucks are also entering Gaza. However, Palestinians continue to die from malnutrition.
More than seven hundred and fifty people seeking aid at the sites have been killed, largely attributed to the Israeli Defense Forces, despite claims by the G.H.F. of safety measures.
