"never be able to un-see"
"he would not be here today with such a bright future if it wasn't for the paramedics"
"It's fantastic. "We need to teach it to children because they're the age where they will take it home, they will teach their parents, they will teach all of their friends and they will keep that skill for life."
A 17-year-old, Ollie Rosenwould, collapsed in cardiac arrest after feeling unwell and was saved when a rapid response paramedic administered CPR within minutes. The paramedics later demonstrated lifesaving CPR skills at Jo Richardson Community School, where Ollie thanked them and advocated for CPR to become a mandatory school skill. Doctors diagnosed a bilateral tension pneumothorax and Ollie was discharged after 22 days. His mother, Donna, said she cannot forget seeing him receive CPR but recognizes he survived because of the paramedics. The London Ambulance Service reports nearly 20,000 students in over 200 schools have received this training.
