Sunnyvale has appointed Daniel Pistor as the new chief of its integrated Department of Public Safety, following the retirement of Chief Phan Ngo. Pistor, who has served in the department for 22 years with roles including captain of the SWAT team, took over the position on June 22. He aims to prioritize transparency, communication, and community trust. Having previously worked in Honolulu, he brings extensive experience from community-based law enforcement and has been actively engaging with Sunnyvale residents through various local initiatives.
