An NHS manager has been barred from selling allegedly dangerous magnesium glycinate gummies for children, which may contain undeclared melatonin, a prescription drug. Sally Westcott, who manages Nutrition Ignition, promoted these gummies as benefitting children with ADHD and autism. The MHRA received complaints from two mothers who suspected the product's efficacy based on their children's adverse reactions. Although ordered to remove the product from Amazon, it is still available on eBay, raising further concerns about online safety and regulatory enforcement during the investigation.
The product, advertised as a natural sleep aid for children, has raised serious safety concerns because it allegedly contains significant levels of melatonin, a prescription-only drug.
Despite being ordered by the drug regulator to remove the gummies from sale, they remain available on eBay, highlighting concerns about online product regulation.
