The Static Safety Camera on Crumlin Road, Dublin 12, will prosecute speeding vehicles starting at 12pm. The €160 fine includes three penalty points. Dolphin's Barn was chosen for the camera based on collision data, speed data, and stakeholder feedback. This camera is part of nine being installed nationwide. Dublin City Council expressed support for the camera, marking their first static speed camera. Funding of €2.4 million comes from the Garda budget. Other average speed cameras are also operational, enhancing road safety efforts alongside speed vans.
The Static Safety Camera will be set up on the Crumlin Road, Dublin 12, and vehicles detected driving in excess of the posted speed limit will be subject to prosecution from 12pm.
Dublin City Council have said they are pleased to welcome the installation of the speed camera, which will be the first ever static speed camera within the Council area.
