A recent survey by Surfshark has revealed that Chrome is the most data-hungry browser, collecting 20 different types of user data, including sensitive information like financial details and contacts. In contrast, TOR was identified as a privacy-centric option, collecting no data. Researchers analyzed popular browser apps on US Apple phones, noting that most browsers only collect an average of six data types. Additionally, 40% of these browser apps collect location data, with concerns raised about the necessity and use of such information, especially when over half do not require it.
