Nearly a year after rolling out the Knightscope K5 police robot in Times Square, Mayor Eric Adams' administration still hasn't found a use for the technology.
K5, the 400-pound police robot, was last seen collecting dust in Times Square, with officials admitting there are no active plans for its deployment.
After the completion of a pilot program where K5 patrolled the subway station, Mayor Adams suggested a new assignment but provided no specifics.
Despite the mayor's optimism about redeploying the robot, a spokesperson later confirmed that there are currently no contracts or plans to use K5.
