Volkswagen Halts ID.4 Production To Find A Fix For Doors That Won't Stay Closed
Briefly

Volkswagen will temporarily halt production of the ID.4 until a fix for a faulty door lock is developed, affecting nearly 100,000 vehicles in recall.
The recall impacts 98,806 U.S.-spec ID.4s due to insufficient water protection leading to potential unexpected door openings, prompting extensive inspections and updates.
"After extensive review, in response to the stop-sale of the ID.4, we will temporarily suspend production of the vehicle at the Volkswagen Chattanooga plant until a remedy is available," said Michael W. Lowder.
VW's head of U.S. sales, Andrew Savvas, indicated that the automaker hopes to find a resolution by the beginning of 2025.
