The Official DOGE Website Launch Was a Security Mess
Briefly

The DOGE website prioritizes its X account over proper functionality, raising concerns about security and engagement strategies. In parallel, RedNote, a TikTok alternative, gained users amid TikTok's potential ban but introduced risks due to severe security flaws. An analysis by University of Toronto's Citizen Lab highlighted that RedNote's use of unsecured HTTP connections and insufficient encryption could expose users, including Chinese users, to surveillance from various governments and ISPs. The lack of response from RedNote regarding the reported vulnerabilities points to ongoing security concerns.
This isn't usually how things are handled, and it indicates that the X account is taking priority over the actual website itself.
The issues that we found also make Chinese users especially vulnerable to surveillance by non-Chinese governments.
