Going to Burning Man is a huge investment of time and money - but watching it isn't, and the voyeuristic digital bird's-eye view of the playa might be getting an upgrade this year.
Matthew Reyes has run the webcam since 2013... The stream, which stays zoomed out of the action for privacy purposes, is an interesting way to peek into the playa for the Burning Man curious.
This year, Reyes hopes to take the stream off YouTube to an independent platform called Livepeer, but the ad-free streaming platform isn't cheap, so he's asking for help.
Reyes is running a fundraiser to collect $8,000 to fund the new stream, asking his Instagram followers to donate to him directly.
