Attorneys general from about two dozen states are escalating a lawsuit against Live Nation, now seeking three times the original damages due to alleged monopolistic practices.
Letitia James stated, 'It's time for a new era where fans, venues and artists are not taken advantage of by big corporations that run the world of live events.'
The recent lawsuit, with contributions from 39 states and the District of Columbia, claims that Live Nation controls about 80% of ticketing for major venues.
The complaint alleges that Live Nation's dominance in concert promotions and venue ownership has led to inflated ticket prices that hurt consumers and artists.
