Qantas mistakenly sold first class flights at drastically reduced prices due to a coding error, leading to an apology and options for affected customers.
About 300 customers took advantage of the mistakenly advertised fares, with first class tickets going for less than $5,000, about $15,000 cheaper than normal.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission stated that while businesses should aim to advertise prices correctly, genuine errors can happen and should be rectified promptly.
A Qantas representative confirmed that as a goodwill gesture, customers affected by the error would be rebooked in business class or refunded in full.
