Posting photos of children on social media, particularly in the context of discipline or embarrassment, is viewed as abusive. Sharing images with captions that shame kids for their mistakes can result in a permanent negative online presence. Children lack the ability to consent to such exposure, which could adversely impact their social lives as they grow older. Concerns about data privacy further amplify the argument against exposing children online, prompting a call to reevaluate the appropriateness of sharing their experiences in public forums.
I feel like it's abusive to post photos of your kids on social media, especially when it's done in reference to something embarrassing or discipline-worthy that they've done.
To me that feels needlessly cruel, considering that kid will eventually be an adult and the internet is forever.
They will grow up with a negative internet presence with a bunch of embarrassing photos, videos, and text posts out there that they never consented to.
It is really gross seeing people punish their kids online like that.
