Tourism Industry Association's chief executive Rebecca Ingram warns that the fee hike could hurt New Zealand's global competitiveness, particularly as the sector is still recovering from border closures.
Despite the fee increase, government officials believe it will not deter tourists and positioned New Zealand as a competitive, attractive destination, according to Tourism Minister Matt Doocey.
