Many NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland customers faced significant issues accessing their accounts via their banking apps early Friday morning, with a surge of complaints reported.
Users reported problems since around 2am, with over 1,000 complaints by 6.50am, coinciding with the last weekday of the month, affecting bill payments for many.
NatWest stated they were aware of the problems and were working to resolve them quickly, apologizing for the inconvenience to their customers this morning.
Customer frustrations were echoed on social media, exemplified by users who experienced repeated errors and were forced to reinstall the app.
