This action comes amidst increasing pressure from the U.S. government, who have accused RT of disseminating propaganda to support the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The ban on Russian state media will be enforced over the coming days. Meta had previously limited access to these outlets in Ukraine in 2022, leading to retaliatory measures by the Russian government against the company.
