The lawyer of Rui Pinto stated that the case represents a "moral reward [for] all the risks he took and the damage he has had to endure" as a result of his actions.
Pinto's lawyer, William Bourdon, noted, "When asked what it might mean for Pinto if the Premier League charges against City are upheld, it would improve his legal team's ability to demonstrate that Football Leaks was at the origin of prosecution."
