Invisible centralization happens gradually then all at once, and it almost always involves emerging technology. This subtle process is often masked, making it difficult for citizens to recognize the centralization taking place.
Our systems of checks and balances were designed to protect us against centralization of power in a way that we can all see. They address visible issues but must evolve to recognize and counter invisible threats.
