House education committee advances anti-hazing bill
Briefly

The Stop Campus Hazing Act, which has passed out of committee for the first time, is aimed at preventing hazing in higher education and mandates important reporting.
Representative Lucy McBath emphasized, 'It's about empowering students and families... and hopefully save their lives,' highlighting the bill's goal to inform families about campus safety.
McBath noted her own loss, stating, 'The only thing we can do now is try to harness our pain... and make a lasting change,' to honor hazing victims.
The legislation requires colleges to report hazing incidents and implement prevention measures, providing transparency about hazing incidents to empower student choices.
