Google agrees to $350 million settlement over data leak
Briefly

Google has agreed to pay $350m to settle a class action lawsuit that accused the company of exposing users' data through a security glitch on its now defunct social media platform, Google Plus. The lawsuit was filed in October 2018 after news reports revealed that Google had known about the problem for months but did not inform users or the public. In addition to the settlement, Google also settled a lawsuit in December regarding tracking users in incognito mode on its Chrome browser.
Google also settled a lawsuit filed by Chrome users who were tracked online while in incognito mode, a feature which purports to shield users from such tracking.
