"Exploitative" IT firm has been delaying 2,000 recruits' onboarding for years
Briefly

The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has raised serious concerns regarding Infosys, alleging that thousands of graduates have been subjected to unprofessional and exploitative practices, including long delays in onboarding and unpaid training. Their letter to the Minister of Labor highlights the distress and uncertainty these young professionals are facing, which has now escalated to a call for government intervention to safeguard the rights of fresh graduates.
NITES reported that after an extensive college recruitment drive, Infosys sent job offers as early as April 2022 but failed to onboard those selected. Instead, graduates were asked to engage in unpaid training sessions which, despite being completed, yielded no clarity regarding their employment status with the company. This has left over 2,000 recruits in a frustrating limbo, raising concerns about the ethical practices of one of India's leading IT firms.
