DWP plans to change PIP assessments from September what you need to know
Briefly

Starting next month, the DWP will implement a new Health Transformation programme which will unify the assessment processes for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and other benefits under one system.
With new providers handling disability benefits assessments, all claims that need a functional health assessment will now be processed together, which is expected to streamline the process.
While these changes are designed to simplify how assessments are conducted, many claimants might feel anxious about potential impacts on their claims amidst the transition.
Face-to-face assessments must still be arranged within a specified travel distance, retaining provision for claimants to be accompanied during the assessment process.
