Whitman Hospital & Medical Clinics in California reported a cyberattack occurred between December and February but initially claimed no patient data was compromised. However, post-incident investigations revealed that an unauthorized party had accessed files containing sensitive patient information, such as Social Security numbers and health records. By April 11, they had started notifying affected individuals and offered complimentary identity protection services. Despite this, there were no claims of responsibility from any ransomware group, nor evidence of leaked data online.
In February, Whitman Hospital & Medical Clinics assessed their cyberattack, initially denying data compromise, but later forensic investigations revealed unauthorized access to sensitive patient information.
Following a cyberattack, Whitman Hospital began notifying affected patients about compromised information, including personal and health details, and offered credit monitoring services.
