The UK's outdated cyber laws are preventing our cyber security professionals from defending organisations effectively. Almost two-thirds of cyber professionals state the CMA hinders their ability to safeguard the UK.
An amendment to the proposed Data (Access and Use) Bill will override outdated aspects of the Computer Misuse Act that inadvertently criminalise good faith, legitimate security activities.
The CMA has been frequently amended, yet it still vaguely defines 'unauthorised access to a computer', inadvertently criminalising ethical hackers and cyber security threat researchers.
