Comcast has revealed that over 230,000 customers' personal data was stolen during a ransomware attack on a debt collection service, highlighting significant cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
The incident, initially reported as lacking Comcast customer data, was later confirmed to involve sensitive information, including Social Security numbers and dates of birth.
FBCS has not disclosed the full details of the security breach which impacted more than four million individuals, drawing attention to the risks associated with third-party service providers.
As of now, no major ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the attack, indicating a potential new trend of unauthorized actors executing such cyber incidents.
