Canadian rail union files lawsuits challenging back-to-work orders
Briefly

"The right to collectively bargain is a constitutional guarantee. Without it, unions lose leverage to negotiate better wages and safer working conditions for all Canadians," said Paul Boucher, president of the union. He added that they are confident in the law and believe workers will have their voices heard in this matter.
The lockouts have disrupted key freight traffic in Canada, stalling shipments vital for delivering raw materials and finished products across the country and into the U.S. The union is determined not to let the government set a precedent that undermines their negotiating power.
