The 79-year-old hoped to start his own museum of oddities. But now everything must go.
Briefly

Willie Kremen, a former Muni driver, amassed a quirky collection of vintage items after the closure of Playland at the Beach. His storage unit in Bayview, filled with curious artifacts like old toys and memorabilia, is a testament to his past. However, Kremen finds himself in a difficult situation as the owner of the building has died, and he faces financial struggles. Hosting an estate sale became necessary for him, marking a shift from collecting to parting ways with his treasures, a process he describes as mentally challenging.
"At this point in my life I'm trying to mentally adjust to letting go," said Kremen in his soft, meandering cadence. "Not too long ago it was acquisition. Now it's deposition."
Kremen wanders through, his head of wiry hair bumps into lightbulbs hanging from the pipes, though he barely seems to notice. He doesn't play favorites.
