Owners Bonnie Frumkin Morales and Israel Morales express excitement about this unexpected opportunity for expansion. They aim to showcase vodka in ways it's often overlooked, planning a complementary seafood menu. Their move will allow increased capacity for distilling their famous horseradish vodka while preserving the spirit's flavors and textures. The anticipated project opens in early summer, marking another milestone in Kachka's illustrious journey.
"It just felt like kismet. It felt like an obvious, natural expansion," said Frumkin Morales about taking over the iconic bar space in Portland.
"Vodka doesn't get attention in the spirits world. It doesn't get appreciated for flavor and texture. A bar focus lets us talk about that more," remarked Frumkin Morales.
