Voters trash Measure 118 tax on sales, rebate

Oregon voters decisively rejected Ballot Measure 118, with 78% opposing the proposed 3% tax on business sales exceeding $25 million, which aimed to distribute funds to residents.

Had it passed, Measure 118 would have allocated an estimated individual payment ranging from $1,035 to $1,790 to residents living in Oregon at least 200 days a year.
