The New Victorians-Sweep & Jail the Poor!
Briefly

Indiscriminate sweeps of "unsanctioned" camps treat all homeless as bad actors; housing market issues push more people onto the streets. We can't continue with outdated responses.
The current city policy echoes the Victorian era's injustice of debtor imprisonment; we cannot ignore the pressing needs of the homeless and the implications of our housing crisis.
Our county jail lacks adequate addiction treatment and mental health services; jailing the homeless is not a viable solution, and it doesn't address the root problem.
A potential oil derailment or earthquake poses significant risks to our community; candidates must oppose Zenith and work to nullify harmful agreements made by the current Council.
