Nurses from Providence Hospital began voting on a new tentative agreement reached with management, following their strike. This voting is set for 48 hours, starting Saturday at 4 p.m. The Oregon Nurses Association believes this timeframe will enable members to make informed decisions. If ratified, nurses are slated to return to work on February 27, with the voting timeline slightly extended from initial estimates to ensure thorough deliberation among union members regarding the agreement.
One day after a second tentative agreement was reached between striking Providence hospital nurses and management, union members began voting whether to ratify the new deal.
Voting is expected to last for 48 hours beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, the Oregon Nurses Association said in a release.
If the tentative deals are ratified, nurses will return to work at their specific hospital on Thursday, Feb. 27. This timeline is longer than originally announced.
Officials said it's so union members will have time to 'make informed decisions.'
