"Kiln is opening a 43,000-square-foot coworking campus in Bend's Old Mill District, betting that Central Oregon's remote-work economy still has room to grow even as the market for flexible office space becomes increasingly competitive."
"The new location includes coworking desks, private offices, podcast studios, wellness amenities, event space and technology-equipped conference rooms. Several rooms on the upper floors have sweeping views of the Cascades."
""We've certainly seen a growth - exponential growth - in remote work and hybrid work since COVID," said Sara Odendahl, co-founder of Work-Collective, one of the locally owned coworking spaces in Bend. "There's certainly a need in the market for more shared and collaborative workspaces.""
""It makes coworking even more important and viable because you're now expanding your network of people that you can communicate with and network with," Douglass said."
Kiln will open a 43,000-square-foot coworking campus in Bend’s Old Mill District at 501 SW Hill St. The facility will accommodate more than 500 members and will be Kiln’s 23rd location and second in Oregon. The space includes coworking desks, private offices, podcast studios, wellness amenities, event space, and technology-equipped conference rooms, with upper-floor rooms offering views of the Cascades. Bend’s remote-work economy has evolved beyond its pandemic-era “Zoom Town” identity as workers relocated from larger metro areas for lifestyle and flexibility. Local coworking operators report strong demand that has shifted with hybrid schedules, return-to-office policies, and increased interest in networking and community. Kiln’s expansion reflects continued need for shared collaborative workspaces.
