Briefly

Stephen Bacon, after 40 years as the owner of Bellwood Violin in Ashland, passed his business to employee Will Scharen. Bacon, a musician who joined the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in 1980, became instrumental in the community by repairing and constructing historic string instruments. His shop, known for having the largest selection of bowed instruments in the area, has served countless musicians. Faina Podolnaya, a local violin teacher, praised Bacon for his kindness, noting how he has made a significant impact on aspiring artists and their love for music.
Bacon has helped innumerable amateur and professional musicians with repairs, serving as a hub for the string community.
Stephen is one of the reasons I fell in love with this country. All my students love him. He's so kind, so generous.
