Residents of Southwest Portland are deeply concerned about the residential redevelopment of the former Alpenrose Dairy site. They have been given until Oct. 9 to express their views to city planners and voice their concerns about potential impacts on the community. The proposed plan by West Hills Land Development aims to construct 263 new homes on the property, leading to significant changes in the neighborhood.
During a public hearing held on Sept. 24, Portland Hearings Officer David Doughman received various comments regarding the redevelopment application. Following the hearing, the developer requested an additional 14 days to work with city staff, as issues had been identified in a report that recommended denying the application. This shows the complexity of navigating the regulatory landscape in urban development.
