The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol has unveiled a new poker room featuring 14 tables, offering both cash games and tournaments. This opening is notable as it provides a local option for poker players in southwest Virginia, who previously had to travel to distant locations for live games. The venue promises a comfortable, non-smoking environment and aims to attract both local players and those from neighboring states, particularly Tennessee. The opening is significant in light of fewer poker room options elsewhere in the country, notably Las Vegas.
"We're excited to bring a first-class poker room to Hard Rock Bristol," Vice President of Gaming Operations Alan Thompson said. "With a mix of cash games and tournament play, we're offering something for every poker player..."
Previously, poker players in the area had to travel about three hours south to Cherokee, North Carolina or east to Danville, Virginia to find live action.
The poker room is non-smoking and conveniently located next to the casino's new non-smoking gaming space, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for all players.
The poker room opening bucks a trend in the industry. Several poker rooms have closed in Las Vegas in recent years, including the Sahara shutting the casino's room in November.
