Connecticut Bill Would Legalize In-Flight Sports Betting
Briefly

Connecticut State Representative Christopher Rosario has introduced Bill 6051, aiming to legalize in-flight sports betting on flights originating or terminating in the state. This innovative bill seeks to capitalize on the expanding sports betting market, as 38 states and Washington D.C. currently regulate such betting. With a successful sports betting system already in place, the bill proposes allocating 1% of in-flight betting revenue to public education. The proposed legislation faces federal challenges, particularly the Gambling Devices Act of 1962, which restricts gambling on U.S. flights.
Betting has become big business in the state of Connecticut and if this takes off, literally, no pun intended, let's be there to capture some of that revenue.
We're kind of still in the first inning as far as legalized sports betting in the state.
