Karl Henry, an award-winning podcast host and personal trainer, reflects on his formative experiences in sports, beginning with rugby at St Michael's College. His journey commenced at eight years old when he joined a rugby team without prior knowledge of the game. Henry's athletic journey encompasses epic cycles and open water swims, with his early sporting memories serving as a cornerstone for his ongoing passion for fitness and health.
My earliest memories of playing sports are from school. When I was eight years old, I had just joined a new school, St Michael's College in Ballsbridge... I remember getting picked for one of the teams.
I asked the coach: "What do I do?" And he said: "Just run that way until you get to the line and put the ball down."
