iHeart announces hybrid live/on-demand True Crime podcast
Briefly

iHeartMedia is set to launch a new radio and podcast series called 'True Crime Tonight', which will be co-produced with KT Studios. The program will debut on over 20 radio stations on Sunday evenings and become available as a podcast the following day. This initiative supports iHeartMedia's 'Podcast, Meet Broadcast' strategy to enhance listener engagement through live caller interactions. Led by notable figures in true crime media, the program aims to leverage the popularity of the genre and offer a fresh storytelling format with greater interactivity.
"We're always exploring new formats for broadcast radio, and we're thrilled to introduce True Crime Tonight," said Tom Poleman, Chief Programming Officer for iHeartMedia.
"The idea of connecting live with audiences who are as passionate about the genre as we are is beyond exciting," said Stephanie Lydecker, founder and CEO of KT Studios.
"Even as podcasting has exploded as the newest mass-ready medium in the United States, true crime has persisted as one of its most popular genres," said Conal Byrne, CEO of iHeartMedia Digital.
