Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward will return to college as Arizona State's wide receivers coach after coaching stints at FAU and as an assistant for the Jets and a head coach in the XFL.
There wasn't much interest in bringing Ward to Pittsburgh for their wide receivers coach vacancy, which was eventually filled by Zach Azzanni. Ward was selected over former Patriots WR Troy Brown for the Arizona State job.
Arizona State has faced struggles, going 3-9 in the past two years. With Ward joining after a move to the Big 12 and under coach Kenny Dillingham, they aim to improve and find success.
