"We see the apartment as a backdrop for the things we collect, so we love to move everything around quite often. It's a space that easily allows for change-for us to be modular and to experiment,"
"Now that we have started aarticles, it's constantly filled with new art and design pieces. That constant movement and redecorating ensures we never grow tired of the space."
Kasia Sznajder and Fred Aartun live in a 775-square-foot Copenhagen apartment near the Christianshavn canals that functions as both home and modular studio for aarticles. The couple sources contemporary art and found objects influenced by Georgia O'Keeffe, J.B. Blunk, Lina Bo Bardi, and Isamu Noguchi. Their summerhouse, The Pine House 1970, became an early staging ground for curated pieces. Fred has lived in the apartment for six years and Kasia updated the kitchen after moving in. The space is frequently rearranged to test compositions and keep the environment dynamic.
