Booooooom x Capture Photography Festival: Sami Farra Interview
"Sami's work questions the photographic medium in its representation of reality, offering a unique vision of our shared environment through the combination of image and object."
"The first series of images examines the singular way in which one's environment is observed, isolating materials from their contexts to provide a metaphorical perspective."
"The second series involves printing and manipulating prints, highlighting the tension between what the materials show and their original, physical consistency."
Sami Farra, an architect and photographer from Lausanne, Switzerland, explores the relationship between photography and architecture. His work, selected for the Capture Photography Festival, will be displayed at the Olympic Village Canada Line Station in Vancouver. The project features accidental sculptures from found objects and manipulated prints, examining how environments are perceived. Farra's compositions isolate materials from their contexts, revealing metaphorical potential and highlighting the tension between physical consistency and visual representation in an ever-changing world.
