During Thanksgiving, I participated in a turkey trot while 20 weeks pregnant, aiming to enjoy the experience rather than compete. However, the atmosphere energized me, leading to a strong finish and deepened appreciation for the sport. I reflected on the challenges of running while pregnant – comparing it to running on Jupiter due to increased difficulties. Despite feeling slower and less energized as the pregnancy progressed, I maintained a basic training structure, highlighting the joy of finding pleasure in running within new limitations.
"Even when your competitive ceiling is lower, it is still fun to push hard within your means. It is edifying, and I love it."
"I felt slow many days, mixed with periods of relatively normal training... all of my running is slow and casual. That is fine."
