Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is commonly associated with attention, impulse control, and hyperactivity. However, these surface symptoms overshadow deeper developmental challenges. A hypothetical study highlights how children with ADHD can grasp strategies intellectually but struggle with execution due to executive function deficits. This results in extended playtime with minimal progress. Interventions for ADHD must not only address attention issues but also focus on bridging knowledge, enhancing persistence, and improving emotional regulation to better support affected individuals.
Children with ADHD often understand task strategies intellectually but struggle with consistent implementation during performance, leading to prolonged effort with limited progress.
Effective ADHD interventions focus on bridging knowledge, building persistence, and emotional regulation, addressing core challenges beyond just attention.
