Maria Shriver revealed that she teaches her children to stand when she enters a room, instilling respect and good manners she learned from her own mother.
I wanted my kids to, when I walked in the room, or their dad walked in, that they stand up out of respect,' she said, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging presence.
Even though my kids moaned and groaned about it, they now say it was a good thing. This tradition builds respect, she believes.
I didn't want to walk in the room and have them looking at a phone. I'd like them to look me in the eye and say hello.
