'I'm Uber-mum now - it's mental': Karen Koster on home life with husband John, Xpose and why she stepped back from full-time TV work
"Karen Koster tells Kirsty Blake Knox about stepping back from her busy career to spend more time with her family, the shock of her mother passing away, picking out her future husband after seeing him on television and supporting a charity close to her heart"
"I'm in the taxi phase of parenting. I am 'Uber mum'," Karen Koster says. "You go from changing nappies and doing feeds and now I'm like, 'Who needs to be where? Who's got tennis? Where are we going for music?'. It is mental. The lifts are crazy."
Karen Koster stepped back from a busy broadcasting career to prioritize family life and spend more time with her children. She and her husband, businessman John McGuire, raise three children: Finn (10), JJ (9) and Eve (7). Parenting currently requires constant driving and coordination, described as the 'taxi phase' with hectic lifts for tennis, music and other activities. The family endured the shock of her mother's unexpected passing, creating emotional strain amid busy family logistics. She first noticed her future husband when she saw him on television. She remains active in supporting a charity that is close to her heart.
