Katherine Duclos, originally from Shanghai, found her artistic path after moving to Brooklyn and enrolling at Pratt Institute. Initially aspiring to be an art teacher, her journey shifted significantly after discovering her autism and ADHD later in life. Now residing in Vancouver, she explores themes of neurodivergence, parenthood, and identity transformation. Duclos' creative work reflects her evolving understanding of self and the interconnectedness of life and art. She thrives on moments of intuitive insight during her creative process, particularly in relation to her experiences as a full-time mother of disabled and gifted children.
"The decision to pursue art felt guided by my willingness to be vulnerable, and the universe answering at a time I needed it."
"When I first develop a new way to use or see something, that's everything to me - that moment of potential energy."
