'Do nothing' is the best advice to avoid fights with kids, according to parenting expert Dr. Becky
Briefly

"When we regulate our own emotions, that's one of the biggest things that helps them regulate their emotions," Dr. Becky Kennedy emphasizes the importance of adult emotional regulation.
"Instead of taking the bait on complaints, I chose to do nothing. I gave a sigh which deescalated the tension," Kennedy explains her effective response to kids' complaints.

"You wish the sweatshirt was clean," Kennedy said to her son, exemplifying her calm approach to avoid escalating minor conflicts with understanding.
