"When we regulate our own emotions, that's one of the biggest things that helps them regulate their emotions," Dr. Becky Kennedy emphasizes the importance of adult emotional regulation.
"Instead of taking the bait on complaints, I chose to do nothing. I gave a sigh which deescalated the tension," Kennedy explains her effective response to kids' complaints.
"I just had the smoothest, best morning with my kids before they went to school because I used a strategy I call 'doing nothing,'" Dr. Kennedy shares her parenting success.
"You wish the sweatshirt was clean," Kennedy said to her son, exemplifying her calm approach to avoid escalating minor conflicts with understanding.
