M&S suspends all online sales as cyber attack worsens | Computer Weekly
Briefly

Marks and Spencer (M&S) has paused all sales through its website and mobile application due to an ongoing cyber security incident that began during the Easter weekend. Initially leading to the suspension of contactless payments and the click-and-collect service, the situation has escalated, prompting M&S to halt all online orders. Although the specifics of the incident remain uncertain, there are speculations of ransomware involvement. M&S is collaborating with third-party security providers and the National Cyber Security Centre to address the issue and urges customers to remain calm as the situation develops.
"As part of our proactive management of a cyber incident, we have now made the decision to pause taking orders via our M&S.com websites and apps," a spokesperson said.
"This latest update highlights that the incident is now having a material impact, with all online and app sales being paused," said William Wright, CEO of Closed Door Security.
