As I step into the role of mayor of Saratoga for 2025, I am filled with gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility. Serving our community is an incredible honor, and I'm excited about the possibilities we can achieve together. The strength of our council lies in our diverse perspectives and our ability to work together, even amidst the often polarizing political climate.
My vision for Saratoga is clear: to create a welcoming, kind, and vibrant community for everyone—residents, businesses, and visitors alike. Kindness is foundational, whether it's greeting neighbors, planting trees, or supporting first responders who protect us daily. This spirit of kindness is something every community can cultivate.
My focus this year will center on traffic safety, neighborhoods, and community vitality. Each area is crucial for cities striving to be sustainable and thriving. An initiative I'm particularly excited about is Saratoga's first Safe Routes to School Day, which will unite law enforcement, schools, and families to prioritize children's safety as they travel to and from school.
Programs like Safe Routes to School have shown success in reducing traffic congestion and creating safer conditions for pedestrians and cyclists. This event is an excellent opportunity for our city to implement changes while collecting active feedback from the community. It's important we support and encourage healthy lifestyles in a city filled with tree-lined roadways.
